Does this actually work? Or is it a gimmick?

WiFi scanning discovers cameras by identifying surveillance manufacturers (Hikvision, Dahua, etc.) and checking for open RTSP/HTTP streaming ports — the same technique professional sweepers use. Why Android only?
iOS locks down the APIs needed for real network scanning. Apple doesn't let apps read ARP tables, scan WiFi networks, or do background Bluetooth monitoring. Android gives full sensor access, which is why every serious counter-surveillance tool is Android-first.
